Conservation Expo
Conservation through Citizen Participation” is the theme of the Stuart Lake Association Booth at the annual Calhoun County Conservation District Expo. The March event attracts hundreds of spectators to participate in conservation exhibits and classes. Stuart Lake Association members Steve Sayers and David Fhaner put together an excellent display dealing with issues of water, lake, and wetlands conservation. Their exhibit of posters, scenic lake photos, brochures and handouts is popular with visitors.
Nine different classes and thirty five exhibits on Conservation topics include fish and wildlife services, wetlands and water quality, resource management, environmental programs, pesticide management, hunting and habitat, edible nature vegetation, birding basics, and financial incentives for conversation.
The Calhoun County Conservation District Expo is always a great success, bigger and better every year.
